Verdict

A STEP TOO FAR continues to defy the handicapper, stepping up to 6f at Cork and completing a five-timer in handicaps with a neck victory over Goodnight Girl. The assessor hasn't been hard on her with just a 3lb rise. The runner-up led at today's trip so there shouldn't be much in it again. She had earlier finished just under 2 lengths behind Ardhoomey over this trip on the same track but can reverse the form and get into the frame. Breakfast Club made a successful debut for Denis Hogan at that Cork fixture but has gone up 10lb and this looks tougher. Blairmayne loves this track and trip and his close second to Mr Lupton last time was yet another excellent run so it will be a surprise if he isn’t in contention. Beckwith Place dropped back to 6f for the first time here last month and ran his best race for a very long time and any further rain would be in his favour.
