Verdict

Hermosa wasn't particularly fancied for the first fillies' classic at Newmarket but made all and battled on powerfully when tackled. That's the best form on view and she should again take care of stable companion Fairyland, who had every chance. However, sixth-placed JUST WONDERFUL is the one to take from the race as she looked more in need of the run than most and came from a long way back. Qabala, who finished third on just the third run of her career, started favourite and ran on strongly under pressure so she can get much closer. The Frankel filly East ran a superb race on heavy going in the French equivalent at Longchamp and she could reward each-way support for Kevin Ryan and Jamie Spencer.
