Verdict

In the last eleven years, Aidan O'Brien has won this nine times. GIOVANNI CANALETTO is the stable hope this time and he's putting his Derby credentials on the line though he's taking a big step-up in grade from landing a Leopardstown maiden. He's handed the vote though Clonard Street would be a threat on his second to Ol' Man River in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes here in September. Ed Dunlop sends Listed winner Prince Gagarin from Newmarket and he can do better than he showed in Chester's Dee Stakes while the progressive Curvy deserves a crack at this level after landing two tough handicaps. Bertie Le Belge had a couple of much better fancied rivals behind at Killarney and is another worthy of a place in this better contest.
