Although three-year-olds have a good record in this, older horses have won the last two and MAAREK can keep up the sequence. He loves this track and soft ground and arrives on the back of an outstanding run in the Ayr Gold Cup where he was conceding lumps of weight to the pair who finished ahead of him. Lady Wingshot has had a fine season but is probably best over an extra furlong and was behind the selection over this C&D last month. Hurricane Twister arrives in fantastic shape having made all for facile victories in handicaps at Roscommon and Tipperary. Both were over 7f, however, and one or two of these may have too much pace for him. Custom Cut hasn't raced over a trip this short since his debut last June but will like the conditions and though Colour Of Love hasn't quite proved herself at this level she came up against a very progressive type in Mince at York last time.
