In depth

Verdict

Silk Cravat has won four times on the all-weather but never on Turf which is why he's on an 11lb lower mark. He's performed well here in the past so goes on the short-list. Latchet had been running well at Dundalk all winter before scoring at Leopardstown last month though that was over 1m2f and this represents a big drop in trip. Bobby Jean has won around here from a much higher mark but would probably want more testing conditions while Villa Maria couldn't handle a 10lb rise for her easy victory at Gowran when down the field at Cork. GLOBAL PASS is still a maiden but that should be rectified soon. He looked just in need of the run on his reappearance and has dropped to a mark he looks capable of winning from so gets the nod. Wilderness, Come At Dawn and Raise The Tempo were engaged in the 5.05 at Gowran yesterday.
