In depth

Verdict

FAMOUS NAME won this in 2009 and again a year ago. He isn't up to Group 1 class though he's been placed several times at that level including behind So You Think in the Tattersalls Gold Cup here last time. He'll give his best and that could be just good enough at this stage to see off Native Khan. He was trained by Ed Dunlop when third to Frankel in last year's 2000 Guineas and a close fifth in the Derby at Epsom. He hasn't been seen since disappointing in the Irish Derby a year ago and is now with John Oxx so he may just need this after such a long break. Windsor Palace gained that shock victory over St Nicholas Abbey here before twice being put in his place by Frankel and the remainder have plenty to find.
