Verdict

Rathvinden gained a comfortable success at Downpatrick when trained by Ian Ferguson and, now with the champion trainer, can make further progress and prove difficult to beat. However, DESERTMORE STREAM showed enough potential at Thurles despite having to finish for the runners-up spot to suggest he can make good use of the 7lb he receives from the top pair. Theos Well didn't appear to enjoy stepping up in trip at Naas after his Listowel success and shouldn't be dismissed while Flags Pass will improve for his run at Thurles though he was beaten a long way.
