PUNCHES PIOUS has only won once in 36 starts but went very close on his reappearance at Tipperary on Tuesday when caught close home over that extended 7f. He can race from a 1lb lower mark here and is taken to go one better and double his winning tally. Mostawfee wasn't too far back in fourth on Tuesday though looks held and though Captain K has been placed several times on the all-weather he's yet to get his head in front in 16 starts. No Way Jack is another with a very poor strike-rate though he wasn't beaten far in any of his races at Dundalk over the winter nor at Leopardstown earlier this month where he was going on at the finish.
