Verdict

SPOT FINE had some strong form on good ground last summer before turning to fences where he showed promise. He reverted to hurdling at Leopardstown in December but found the conditions against him and will be much more at home on today's drying ground. He looks the one to be on as Smithfield, who has equally good form over timber, has to concede 8lb due to a win on the Flat at Killarney last summer. Up Sluggarh improved steadily last summer and though easily dismissed by the long odds-on Rogue Angel when last seen in October further progress should see him in the mix. It's difficult to get excited about the prospects of the remainder though Alexander Leaving should have improved for his run at Punchestown last month.
