Verdict

Fiery Oscar is just 2lb higher than when scoring at Thurles a year ago and will be better for his comeback run last month. Winning point-to-pointer Wild Salmon has been chasing without much luck and is low enough in the weights to make his presence felt along with Billybuster, who is still a maiden after 11 starts over hurdles. Another maiden, WHISKEY AND RYE, attracted very strong support for a Limerick handicap in December but slipped up at the third. He's shown enough potential in the past to be higher rated than a 95 handicapper and compensation awaits. Pretty Happy has run 38 times over hurdles and won once. She's mainly very consistent and should be in the firing-line once again while the lightly-raced Whatsthecrack Jack did better at Thurles last time and wouldn't need to improve much to get on the scoresheet.
