      Verdict

      Gabrial The Devil won over 6f here a fortnight ago but had earlier finished runner-up to LORD VETINARI (NAP) over track and trip. The latter defied a 5lb rise for an earlier success at Goodwood on that occasion and Andrew Balding’s progressive charge may not have stopped improving yet. Both Viscount Loftus and stablemate Illusional posted better efforts on their respective latest starts while Dragons Tail ran much better here in May than he did when starting favourite back at this venue on his latest start.
