Verdict

Another difficult race to get to grips with but Aventura has the ability to go close in a race of this nature and he is selected over Arctic Burst, Four Jays and Couranglais. The Mark Polglase-trained colt has been highly tried since winning a claimer at Lingfield at the start of the year, but has run consistently well on numerous occasions in defeat. He is ideally suited by seven furlongs now and should make a bold bid from the box draw in stall one. Arctic Burst ran out a comfortable winner of a Pontefract maiden at the end of May, and has to be respected as a big threat if he repeats the effort over this extra furlong. However, he is unlikely to be sent off at the most rewarding odds if punters apply the 'Barry Hills at Chester' factor to their selections and he may be one to take on in this stiffer company. Couranglais and Convex have become a little frustrating and are probably best watched today. Whereas Four Jays could easily put his course and distance experience to good use for each way backers. However, Aventura can lead them all a merry dance if utilising his early pace around these tight turns today.
