Verdict

BORAK looked as though this trip would be no problem at all when scoring over 1m4f on soft ground here last week. Connections put up a 7lb claimer and a quick follow-up looks on the cards. Alaweer made all for an easy victory in a 1m2f Pontefract maiden but hasn't done so well in handicaps. The assessor certainly took note when Brandon Castle gained a smooth victory at Ffos Las as he raised him 10lb, which looks a bit harsh. Skiddaw Valleys stepped up to this sort of trip at Catterick and beat the odds-on Goathland so a 1lb rise shouldn't prevent another big run. Goldslinger has now won three of his last four, including a very easy victory at Bath for which he's been raised 9lb, which looks fair enough. He looks a threat to all but Midtech Star was beaten in a Class 6 handicap last time.
