    In depth

    Verdict

Aldente can give in-form Seb Sanders another winner, with Haiban, Ceirog Valley and Toshi other interesting contenders. The draw will play a part as usual, and Aldente, from stall four, can improve enough on what she showed on her Redcar debut to open her account. The daughter of Green Desert ran market leader Dubai Surprise close on that occasion, and this well-bred sort makes most appeal. Haiban has a blend of speed and stamina and will be expected to do better after losing all chance on his Hamilton bow after swerving at the start. He too has a good draw along with Ceirog Valley whose trainer is always to be respected on his frequent visits. Mark Johnston has some excellent juvenile talent and Toshi, who got involved in scrimmaging when sent down to Goodwood, hails from a good middle-distance family and should progress with time. On this occasion though, we like the look of Aldente.
