      Verdict

      Wanting attempts a shorter trip having returned a losing favourite on his last couple of starts. Merdon Castle had little chance in a Group 3 sprint at Ascot last time but had been in good form on the all-weather earlier and beat Anonymous John at Chelmsford in February. Snap Shots ran well on his return at Thirsk last month and could figure but a chance is taken on the returning ACCIPITER. Chris Wall's filly won a Listed sprint over 5f at Ayr in September and there should be more to come from her this year. Rita's Boy usually runs his race but that may not be good enough in this better company and he finished behind Merdon Castle earlier.
