Verdict

Andrew Reid's Bakiri has the best of the draw in stall one but needs to improve on recent form to take advantage it and preference is for Champion Lion, who is preferred to Trouble Mountain. The last mentioned has been knocking on the door this term and has the assistance of Kieren Fallon so has to be respected. He rates a bigger threat than Catterick winner Court of Appeal, who has more to do off his new mark. Petrula, who ran here yesterday, may find this coming too soon and is not certain to stay anyway. Warwick winner True Companion and the reappearing Aleron are others to consider but the vote goes to Champion Lion. Mick Channon's gelding should relish the underfoot conditions, is better than recent evidence suggests and is well drawn. He looks worth a punt.
