Verdict

SERGEANT HARPER is the pick with Pale Rider and Cherry Flora likely to give him most to do. Colin Tizzard's charge ran creditably in his first racecourse appearance before having the misfortune to come up against a live one at Wincanton last time out. He looks as if he'll need further in time but his class should get him through today. Pale Rider was an expensive purchase at the Doncaster Sales last December. With his yard in form, any market movement needs to be noted. Cherry Flora won her first start when in receipt of all the allowances. That was a competent effort that should see her holding her own against this opposition. Baron De Roc was just behind our selection when they last met so obviously has to reverse form. Gilwen Glory was a cheap purchase at 3500 guineas while Sir Kezbaah is a stoutly bred sort who is another to note closely. Sergeant Harper can dance away with this prize.
