Verdict

Matthew Muroto is our pick from a small but competitive field, with Sagasso Sea and Martin Ossie the two most likely to follow him home. The Robert Alner-trained gelding chased home Nycteos over this course and distance last time out and can go one better today. That horse has gone on to score since and the form looks very strong. Sargasso Sea scored in the mud at Leicester last time out but that was his first win in three years. He could go on from there but he has been a frustrating sort in the past and is not a horse to be relied upon. Martin Ossie was a promising point-to-point horse but he has yet to duplicate that form under rules. In a competitive race Matthew Muroto just shades it.
