In depth

Verdict

Glencal, Royal Guest and Fleuret look the three to concentrate on in this maiden handicap and the vote is given to Glencal. The selection was a good second behind Gleaming Spirit last time out. This looks easier and he need only run up to that mark to score. Royal Guest rates the main danger on his latest third behind Caravel. However the drop in trip has to be of concern. Fleuret was a fair second behind Millisecond last time and is another with places claims but he is another that has already suggested he will be seen to better effect over a longer trip. Of the remainder Withywood is from a shrewd yard and should be watched in the market but for the winner we return to Glencal.
