In depth

Verdict

Gilt Edge rattled-up a hat-trick of lower grade sprints last month but has been raised a further 7lb for this while Kinglami’s recent success at Wolverhampton came in Class 6 company. Handytalk never figured at this level last time having scored at Ffos Las earlier and Alicia Darcy’s earlier win at Brighton came on fast going. Angel Mead can do better back over 6f today and is preferred to Young John but SMOKEY LANE may have finally fallen far enough down the weights to end a long losing run and he gets the vote to go one better on the back of a recent second over track and trip.
