Verdict

Phillip Hobbs has been patient with his representative Callmecozmo and it will be interesting to see how the eight-year-old gets on following a 748 day absence but a safer bet looks to be the in-from Tommy Carson, with Burren Moonshine rated the best of the rest. The selection has done little wrong of late, winning his last two starts, and could still be well enough treated to make it three on the bounce despite another 5lb rise in the weights. Polar Scout is entitled to strip fitter for his recent return at Ludlow but is hard to back on that evidence, while Lizzie Bathwick is capable but inconsistent. Fluff 'N' Puff may just be a shade high in the weights, while Southerndown would probably prefer more testing ground. There are no doubts concerning the ground for Burren Moonshine though, who has been waiting for fast ground, and provided that she is fit enough for her first outing since September then she has to be respected. Tommy Carson goes on any ground though and, in current form, he is the one that gets the vote.
