In depth

Verdict

GULLIBLE GORDON is our nomination ahead of Kayf Aramis and Mr Bennett. The selection does have to bounce back from a below par show at Exeter but connections have taken their time in going back to the well and if all is fine, he has an obvious claim of taking a race that lacks strength in depth. Kayf Aramis shapes as if he will get the trip. Well backed at Fontwell, his yard are in better form at this juncture. Mr Bennett will be of interest if the market speaks in his favour and represents connections that have had plenty of success in the past. Mr Bee Gee is related to a number of stayers but on jockey bookings, Giles Cross, who chased home Inchidaly Rock, looks the pick of the two Victor Dartnall runners. C'Monthehammers has shaped with plenty of promise in two bumpers whilst Champagne A Gogo made his rules debut in a hot Irish bumper and this ex-point winner has switched to the stables of Emma Lavelle. Faneuil Hall has been easy to back on two starts thus far. Gullible Gordon is the selection in the nightcap.
