Verdict

Beat The Judge has improved since finishing behind Scardura, who is 6lb better off, on his chasing bow at Stratford. He stayed on too strongly for Ballywood at Fontwell last month but Alan King’s charge is 8lb better off and will strip fitter here. Hatcher has gone up 6lb for winning at Southwell in July and is hard to predict. He’d finished well behind Movie Legend at Doncaster earlier in the year and it would be no surprise if stablemate Azzuri fared better on these terms. Dolos has plenty to find with Katpoli on their run at Doncaster in February but On The Slopes was on an upward curve when last seen and looks a danger to ROUGE VIF. A Grade 2 winner over hurdles and fences, Harry Whittington’s classy six-year-old did well to finish third in the Arkle here in March as he lost a shoe on the way round and had to plot a course through tiring rivals in the closing stages.
