Verdict

Willie Mullins has won nine of the last 10 renewals and is mob-handed again. BENIE DES DIEUX won this 12 months ago and followed up in another Grade 1 at Punchestown, beatings Apple’s Jade on both occasions. She arrives this year without a prep run but her trainer thinks she could be one of the meeting’s bankers and her odds are likely to reflect that. The stable’s Elimay and Stormy Ireland have solid each-way claims but Limini has been a little disappointing this season, though did finish third in this in 2017. Best of the home team may be the admirably-versatile Lady Buttons, who has won six of her 16 hurdle starts and also four times over fences. She is unbeaten in four runs this season but possibly lacks the class of some of the Irish mares. Mia's Storm beat small fields at Uttoxeter and Kempton in the autumn but doesn’t look up this level and Jester Jet also has something to find but Cap Soleil runs well fresh and may do better than expected.
