        Verdict

        There looks to be little to choose between ROCKET DANCER and Selecto with the former preferred, albeit narrowly. The Kirk inmate overcame a sluggish stalls exit to chase home the potentially-useful Escape Proof at Leicester with a decent sort in Wyclif back in third. He has every chance if getting away on terms today. Selecto will benefit from Roger Charlton's patience and stepped up nicely on debut when fourth at Newbury while Wailea Nights is respected after a solid Lingfield debut. It's far from a three-cornered fight, however, with newcomers such as John Gosden's Cobber Kain and Simon Crisford's Goddess Of Rome also in the line-up.
