In depth

Verdict

Apache Storm beat Rita's Boy by almost three lengths over 6f at Southwell last month but the drop in trip and quicker surface may not be ideal. Lightscameraction showed plenty of speed on his all-weather debut at Wolverhampton in October and makes more appeal than Anonymous John and Merdon Castle. He should also finish ahead of Kaufmann, who has raced exclusively over 7f so far. SQUATS has his first run on an artificial surface but looks the class act in this on his form on Turf as a juvenile. He was fourth in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket on his most recent outing and should have too much for the hat-trick seeking Wentworth Falls if repeating that effort here.
