A huge field goes to post here and there are sure to be a handful of hard-luck stories in a fiercely competitive heat. Cape Blanco must have a leading chance if a literal interpretation is taken of his Dante defeat of runaway Epsom Derby winner Workforce but it may not pay to take too short a price about any runner in this event. The same can be said of the smart Planteur, who defeated Rewilding last time and with the latter also showing up well at Epsom, both are strong choices strictly on the form book. Ryan Moore will look to make it a hat-trick of Classics this weekend on board Ice Blue for Pascal Bary. He is a horse who looks very much on the upgrade and has more to offer. But the vote goes to BEHKABAD, who has a very good winning strike rate and won tidily last time at the course. He looks the ideal type for this sort of contest and has a jockey in Christophe Lemaire who can get him through the contest with the minimum of fuss. French Guineas hero Lope De Vega is up in trip but has decent claims of staying while Aidan O'Brien's Viscount Nelson also tackles further following his third behind Canford Cliffs in the Irish 2000. Olivier Peslier's mount Lumineux is also worth a second look but does have some improvement to find.
