Verdict

Donald McCain has won this twice in recent years and his THYNE FOR GOLD, who went up 6lb for his victory at around this trip at Uttoxeter but then made a bold bid over a bit further at Wetherby, can get back on the winning trail. Normandy King took advantage of very heavy conditions to score easily at Bangor in April but has a 14lb rise to contend with on his reappearance. Leading Score couldn't quite get to Theatre Act at Carlisle but it was a promising return to action while Recognition will be better suited by the quick ground than most having won in those conditions at Market Rasen in July. Cloud Monkey, runner-up over this trip at Wetherby last month, didn't get the best of runs on a return visit over the minimum and is much better than that.
