Few make any appeal in the testing ground but it was soft going when the progressive ANNA BUNINA won at Ripon in August with Appointed back in fourth. Jedd O’Keefe’s filly has subsequently gone close again on fast ground at Pontefract suggesting she can win off her current mark. Unit of Assessment is back on soft for the first time since scoring at Goodwood in June but Gylo’s earlier course and distance double came on a faster surface. Billy No Mates finished closer last time having slid down the weights but Qawamees has just the one win in 18 attempts and Cape Islay and stablemate Winged Spur arrive out of form. Wolf Prince is the least exposed but needs to put a poor effort at Chester behind him.
