The handicapper has now given LAVA LAMP an excellent chance of achieving his first success and Geoff Harker's charge can do so at the main expense of Magic Millie and Emerald Glade. The last-named has put in two decent efforts out of three runs so far this campaign and acts well on fast ground. She has now slipped to a handy mark and pedigree suggests that she has possibilities of staying, so money for her would be very interesting. Magic Millie claimed a Beverley handicap win last time and is up 5lbs for that. Fast ground is ideal, although a previously unsuccessful try over 11f leaves her with stamina issues to prove if she is to follow-up today. Allanah Abu is 1lb higher than a competitive effort at Brighton last time, so he has claims and is sure to stay, though preference is just for Lava Lamp. Geoff Harker's string has been going very well of late and this Shamardal gelding is now 5lbs lower than his most recent run. The step up in trip is a bit of an unknown, though he is related to winners over this far, and from what is now an attractive pitch connections might just have a bit of fun with him in the short term.
