Verdict

Mitchell's Way made a fair debut at Kelso but couldn't handle the step-up in class at Haydock subsequently. SPARVILLE ran very well when third to subsequent easy winner Local Celebrity at Clonmel and the Irish raider looks ready to gain his first success. After a fine effort at Aintree, Special Catch started favourite at Newcastle a month ago but faded quickly after travelling well. Winstone was totally friendless in the market before a very promising effort behind The Wayward Lord here last month and looks certain to make good progress while Latest Fashion had produced a strong run at Clonmel in July when trained in Ireland and her new connections will be expecting another big effort.
