    Verdict

Woody Waller ran creditably on his racecourse debut at Hamilton, staying on late in the day and showed enough to suggest a maiden of this type is well within his grasp. The trip is the unknown quantity where Howard Johnson's contender is concerned but the manner in which he ran to the line at on his debut suggested that he was in need of much further. Dream Esteem is another taking a step up in trip and comes here with a rating of 71. His most recent effort was disappointing to say the least although the trip was likely to have been on the sharp side. Cherokee Star has 4lb in hand on Dream Esteem on handicap ratings. His best effort was when chasing home North Parade at Haydock on his penultimate start. Henry Cecil's northern raiders always have to be respected and Marie Louise has shown some promise. The three previously mentioned have indicated that this trip is within their range as opposed to Marie Louise who's profile to-date does not suggest that she will relish this extended trip. Woody Waller is the pick to land the finale.
