Verdict

This is a competitive handicap in which Prairie Sun, Champion Lion and Senor Set look to be the leading lights and the vote is given to Champion Lion. The selection was well-beaten last time but that was over 2m and the drop in trip should be the key to his chance tonight. The fact that he has ground conditions to suit is another big plus for him. Prairie Sun has not shown much of late but this does tend to be his time of year and five of his seven career wins have come in the month of May. Senor Set is interesting as he is on a handy mark at present and he was unlucky at Nottingham last time when he found trouble before finishing a closing fourth behind Mister Completely. The booking of Jamie Spencer for Bill Bennett catches the eye and he has his ground conditions so could go well at a price. However, for the winner we will stick with Champion Lion.
