Verdict

PARADISE EXPECTED is a confident call against Speedy Directa and Viel Gluck. The Tim Vaughan effect eventually translated potential into victory and with a 6lb penalty accrued for a Uttoxeter success, it should not be enough to stop her. Speedy Directa has threatened to pick up a race or two in the past. He has, however, been well held off this mark in the past. Viel Gluck put up a career best to be second in a Hexham contest over an extended trip. The market should be watched closely. Mceldowney has been unable to translate his flat form to obstacles. Classic Quart is suffering from a severe bout of seconditis. Crossguard had been taking on much better opposition than this in the past so at the likely odds, he is sure to have plenty of each-way supporters. Phoenix Nights has experience around this course though has not troubled the judge. Paradise Expected can follow up.
