Verdict

Germany Calling probably came up against a smart novice when beaten by Dell' Arca at Uttoxeter on his second start over fences in May. Vodka Wells was receiving plenty of weight when beating the useful Gold Futures at Hexham on his chasing bow but he was always going well that day and should have more to offer - Jamie Bargary's claim is in his favour again. RELIC ROCK, a smart performer in bumpers, surprisingly failed to win over hurdles last season but chasing could be his game and it's significant that Brian Ellison is starting him off in a handicap against more experienced rivals. He gets the nod to make a winning return. Smooth Stepper should also make a chaser but may need this.
