In depth

Verdict

The Cockney Mackem proved incredibly frustrating over fences last season but was taking on very decent company, finishing second in the Grade 3 Byrne Group Plate at the Cheltenham Festival in March. If he can transfer that form back to hurdles, he should take all the beating here though may not be one to take too short a price about. Over this trip, we'd rather have a small wager on RAIN MAC who was a decent middle-distance performer on the Flat for John Gosden and was in obvious need of the run behind surprise winner Pas Trop Tard at Perth. The Ferick needs to improve on his third at Sedgefield if he's to figure but Flicka Williams and Presenting Junior are worth noting for future reference.
