Verdict

Though GULF PUNCH races off a higher mark than when second twice over C&D last year, his ability to handle this soft ground is a major plus and he can bounce back from a below-par effort at Sedgefield in January to land a contest that isn't as competitive as the numbers suggests. Arisea has had a couple of runs on the all-weather since her winning run came to end at Hexham in December. She's a C&D winner and can't be ignored, though is closely matched with Knight Valliant on Catterick running in the autumn. On The Right Path won a seller on heavy ground at Uttoxeter in January before finishing unplaced at Catterick and, along with the consistent Via Archimede, looks the pick of the remainder.
