    Verdict

Three Saints Bay, who'll relish the drop in grade, and stable companion Montague, a recent scorer in claiming grade, combine to provide the O'Meara yard with a strong hand. The former is just the preference but ON A MAY DAY could well prove one of those three-year-old Johnson handicappers who do nothing but improve in their second season. This is a tougher assignment than her two Brighton victories but she's in high form and could well have plenty more in the locker. Equitant could improve for the step-up in trip as he's been running solidly enough and Bezos showed enough on second start for Ian Williams to suggest he can also take a hand in a tight affair.
