Verdict

Our Boy Ben will have needed last month's run at Catterick and might do better now tackling fences. Marlee Mourinho has twice finished second in lesser company at Newcastle this winter while Vasco D'Ycy is steadily coming down the weights, though disappointed when only beating one home when favourite at Wetherby last time. Presenting Rebel has won three times between the flags but was beaten a distance when third on his first start over the larger obstacles under Rules at Musselburgh. MIDNIGHT REQUEST went close several times over hurdles and doesn't look badly treated on his fencing bow. The Devon raider could well be good enough if his jumping holds up.
