Chubbes should be up to winning this seller, with Bargain Hunt and Campbells Lad perhaps the main dangers in an awful race. The selection has at least 10lb in hand on official ratings and ran well enough over this trip in a seller when fourth at Leicester last time to suggest that he has the ability to win this at the weights. Although he has yet to race on turf with some cut, he has handled fibresand well enough and that gives us a modicum of confidence that this should not unduly inconvenience him. The trip seems to be his optimum and we will take a chance on him. Bargain Hunt drops back in trip after contesting a 10 furlong handicap at Redcar last time. Wilf Storey's gelding ran well enough over nine furlongs behind Hawkit at Hamilton in May, and it is not so long since he was contesting races and being competitive over this trip. He is likely to give his running then, and on that basis he could prove the main danger. Few others make and sort of appeal and we will take Chubbes to land the prize.
