Verdict

Excessable hasn’t won on Turf in two years but the veteran has a chance in a race like this from a seemingly good draw. Gorgeous General has placed in three of his last four, including one over this course and distance, but is now 0-17 on this surface. Serena Brotherton has turned up for just the two rides. JOSHUA R, the first of them, failed to handle rain-softened ground at Hamilton last time when behind Quanah but conditions tonight should suit Helen Cuthbert’s gelding. Doncaster runner-up Blazing Hot and Red Allure give Rebecca Menzies a strong hand with Hot Scoop, Paddy Elliott and Sir Benedict other possibles in an open-looking sprint.
