Verdict

A poor claimer in which SENESCHAL is the call with Punching and Obe Brave as the most obvious dangers. Andy Haynes' charge seems to have found his level at plating grade and while disappointing for backers last time out, he can be forgiven that effort as it was obtained on soft going. Trip and track are ideal and he appears reasonably drawn today. Gay Kelleway likes Brighton winners so Punching has to be noted in the market. He has cut little ice in handicaps and the headgear has been removed. Obe Brave is the class act. Hailing from the Richard Fahey yard, were he to run up to his mark, he would be a class above any of his rivals. With the price of diesel, they won't mind a claim going into the box for him. Banjo Patterson was once useful before injuries took their toll. A good run behind our selection in August was followed by a moderate run next time out. Ten To The Dozen is consistent enough at this grade but put up a serious no-show at Kempton last week. Balerno often looks unlucky but that habit has proved expensive for his followers. Majestical has won previously in plating grade at the course albeit against weaker opposition than today. Plenty of doubts so tread carefully about this contest but for the winner, we return to Seneschal.
