    Verdict

Northside Lodge gets the vote over Burgundy, with Bundaberg and Doringo expected to make their presence felt also. Northside Lodge has not won for nearly three years now but has been showing signs of a revival lately, with promising seconds over the course and distance and Salisbury this month. The son of Grand Lodge has plummeted to a mark in the low 60's at present, having been rated some 20lbs higher at his best, and with in-form Eddie Ahern on board, he can give Walter Swinburn another winner. Burgundy has yet to win here, but scored well at Epsom last time and should go well despite topweight. Bundaberg in contrast gets weight all round and is worth a try back up in trip after being touched off on both of his last two outings here. However, he is closely matched with Doringo who beat him in an apprentice event here at the start of the month and there is little to choose between the pair again. Nothing else makes too much appeal, and we are happy to side with Northside Lodge who is long overdue a win.
