Verdict

A typically tough maiden for the course and One Off is only a token selection to get the better of some very frustrating rivals. True Companion, Wasted Talent and Blazeaway head the shortlist against him. Sir Mark Prescott's runners always have to be respected at this level and, although he was disappointing last time, One Off will not have too much to find in a race of this nature. However, it he is obviously no world beater and a sensible staking plan is probably the best policy here. Brighton has long been noted as a track that revitalises horses that have lost interest in the game, but it is unlikely that the same sentiments are going to be applied to punters involved in this race. We take One Off to land a gamble to small stakes. True Companion is selected as the biggest danger.
