Verdict

With the top weight Mexican Pete rated just 61, this is little better than a seller. He, along with Heneseys Leg and Royal Portrait look the one's to concentrate on with the latter getting a narrow vote. John Dunlop's filly is clearly one of the lesser lights at Arundel, but she does go well here and looked to be on the upgrade when making Desert Royalty pull out all the stops to beat her here earlier this month. A reproduction of that effort would make her hard to beat. Heneseys Leg proved well suited to this trip at Folkestone and may have done better still had there been more of a gallop. She is clearly going the right way and will be a big threat. Mexican Pete seemed to find the trip beyond him at Newmarket and will be much more at home over this 10-furlongs. However, he is vulnerable giving weight away all round. Viente Siete has shown little in her five outings to date and connections will be hoping this step up in trip brings about some improvement. All in all an uninspiring contest which can go to Royal Potrait, who has at least proved she handles the undulations here.
