        Verdict

        We have followed Woodbury's progress this season and are convinced that she has a win in her. She is taken to come good at the expense of Compton Arrow and High Ridge. Woodbury was given a terrific ride by George baker when scoring at Newmarket last year, dictating matters and quickening well when asked. Ridden by Dean Corby to her only subsequent victory at Lingfield, the filly has found it hard this season, but has been showing lately that her turn is near. It nearly came at Salisbury when she could not quite manage to hang on after getting an early lead, and off what is an attractive mark at present, she can gain a deserved success. High Ridge has also shown a glimpse of form, running well enough at Windsor eight days ago to merit each-way support. Compton Arrow is sent down from North Yorkshire by Dandy Nichols who is not coming for a day at the seaside, as was the case 12 months ago when he landed the seven furlong race on the corresponding card off a mark of 59. He is a pound lower here and must not be overlooked. However, we expect Woodbury to repay our loyalty with a deserved win in in the finale.
