        Verdict

        This doesn't look as good a maiden as the opener however there are a few of interest; namely Alcalde and Timpanist and the vote goes to Alcalde. It could be pertinent to side with the most interesting newcomer here as the standard set by the others is average to say the least. Mark Johnston's son of Hernando is bred to get further in time as he is a half-brother to Alambic and his pedigree is chocked full of stamina. However this race looks weak and on testing ground it may place the emphasis on stamina for these juveniles. Timpanist was unfancied on debut and was well-held after missing the break; the market may help with her chance today. Buddha O' Neil was a cheap purchase and like the filly was slowly away on debut, whilst Herschel and Parc Des Princes may improve on their debuts but would certainly need to. Primo Dilettante will be handicapped after this run so the market may prove informative, however in a weak race we will side with Alcalde.
