        Verdict

        No shortage of course experience again in this but a competitive-looking handicap can go to one making his first visit to the track. George Baker was able to ease STAR ASSET well before the line when he won easily at Epsom eight days ago. That's earned the gelding a 6lb penalty but he's clearly on an upward curve and, reunited with Jim Crowley, can record a third victory in four starts. Surety finished three lengths ahead of Black Caesar when scoring at Kempton last month but has struggled off higher marks since. Hawk Moth and the hat-trick seeking Port Lairge are upped in grade but Arlecchino'S Leap and Buckland Beau are consistent performers at this level and have place claims again.
