Verdict

BALTIMORE CLIPPER has improved in a couple of runs this season and we take him to win this maiden ahead of Ebony Boom and the progressive Never Can Tell. After showing plenty of promise as a two-year-old the pick looked in need of his first run as at three and duly stepped up on that in a Windsor maiden that has some strength to it. He just about sets the standard and is the marginal pick. Ebony Boom is from a top yard and doesn't have to find much based on the official ratings. He was a little disappointing in a handicap last time but back in this company has every chance of getting off the mark. Never Can Tell was mildly progressive in two starts before a much improved effort last time and if showing more again should go close while Coiled Spring may come on from a solid reappearance. The ratings promise a tight race and we think Baltimore Clipper is best placed to take it.
