John Spearing's BERMONDSEY BOB has been running consistently well of late including when a close third behind Pipers Piping over course and distance last month and he can go one better racing off a 1lb lower mark today and only 1lb higher than when successful at Chepstow in June. Mick Channon's Bateleur has the beating of Boldinor on running over course and distance last month and makes more appeal than John Bridger's Commandingpresence, who would probably prefer a softer surface having run better on soft ground in his last two starts. Stamford Blue escapes a penalty for his win over five furlongs at Bath but is maybe better over the minimum, while Wooden King is likely to struggle under his penalty for his win at Bath last month.
